This is a little memorial to Wilburn Rockett, who taught me more about electronics and communications than any book is able to do. The last advice I received from him was how to make a shunt fed vertical actually work. You may view the antenna on the ANTENNA section of the web page. Viewing the VSWR curve, you will note his advice was right on the mark.
Here Rocky is building a data cable for my PK-232 MBX HF MODEM. We spent many hours rag chewing in: RTTY, AMTOR Mode A, Mode B, and also with PACTOR II.
I now use a HAL P38, which is a DOS based system. It is an internal MODEM which is no longer made because it requires an ISA slot. Oh well.
So long Rocky, you are gone but not forgotten.
